Dance/Gymnastics Physiotherapy
I was a ballet dancer when I was younger, studying firstly at Dance North Academy, followed by full-time ballet at the Tanya Pearson Ballet Academy in Sydney and then moving to Melbourne for the Australian Ballet School . Since then dance has been a very significant part of my life. Four years ago at 39, I picked up my dance shoes again (with my daughter) and joined a competitive Adults dance team, performing nationally in Lyrical, Hip Hop, POM and Jazz. In 2024, I was lucky enough to join an international team of opens and competed in Florida at the Dance Worlds.
I have always enjoyed working with Dancers in a Physiotherapy capacity. I understand their unique movements and requirements, not only on a performance level but also an injury and training level in all genres of dance.
With Dancers I need to work closely along side the dance teachers to ensure a smooth recovery from injury. I also perform pointe assessments and can assist with biomechanical performance enhancement through hands-on Physiotherapy and Pilates.
